POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to augment our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of innovative web based Energy and Data Center Management products that help our customers understand and manage energy consumption and environmental conditions in their facilities.

This position is based out of our Raleigh office overlooking Lake Johnson Park. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Iteratively work with development, systems engineering, and teammates to develop test cases for assigned feature set.
• Execute manual test cases within each iteration to identify flaws in product implementation.
• Work with development to remediate issues and bring features to completion.
• Validate the values in reports and chart by using SQL to extract data from the database and compare it to values presented in the Web UI.
• Validate user permissions to objects and data based on our tree based hierarchy

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience in testing web applications
• Previous experience validating data presented in reports and charts.
• Linux power user
• Experience writing queries against PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Creative, industrious, self-managed
• Excels when working as part of a small, agile, product-focused team
• Ability to balance tasks and work on multiple tasks concurrently

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

A candidate with a mix of the following experiences will be at an advantage:

• Previous experience with Energy Management products or Network Management Systems
• Experience in the day to day operations of a data center environment, particularly as it relates to planning and infrastructure management
• Experience with Selenium and/or automating test cases
• Experience with SNMP (pulling and pushing data using this protocol)
